Plasma-derived medicinal products (PDMPs) play a crucial role in treating rare and chronic diseases, including immunodeficiencies, bleeding disorders, and neurological conditions. However, their availability depends on the voluntary and regular donation of plasma by healthy individuals. Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of plasma donors is essential to maintaining a sustainable and ethical supply chain.

The Donor health in focus: Advancing safety and sustainability in plasma donations webinar, co-organized by UNITAR and Takeda under the Plasma4Life Initiative, aims to address the latest research, best practices, and policy approaches related to donor health, with a focus on health monitoring, risk mitigation, and long-term well-being. The event will bring together international experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to discuss strategies for safeguarding donor health while maintaining a sustainable plasma donation ecosystem.
